SMS Leads Industry in Utility Mapping and Clash Detection – Possibilities are Endless

Partnering with Trafman Solutions , SMS are leading the way in mapping, modelling and protecting overhead and underground utilities on construction sites. The collaboration between these two businesses has created a “cradle to grave” service offering that facilitates tangible design outcomes such as safety and optimisation.

Existing utilities (underground and above) are located, exposed and mapped. Once seamlessly modelled into a BIM environment; the possibilities are endless.

Where Infrastructure design information is available, we are applying automated Clash Detection techniques to optimise projects constructability, eliminating potential delays and affirming construction schedules.

Our current design and construction partners then use the BIM and Clash Analysis to optimise their design, decrease re-work and protect their utilities and workers. The end result is simple. Physical markings above ground in conjunction with Augmented Reality devices for ground crews, providing instant underground visualisation.
